hi, i need more info about commission rules in particulary, when we select more than one category what's the logical of the selection? AND, OR? i ask these becouse i need to apply a fixed commission on all product of a category (es. shoes) except for product that are in a subcategory (es. work shoes) that have another amount o commission. In other words how we can make possible to exclude sub category from a category parent?
The logic that applies when selecting multiple categories is 'OR' - if any of the category match for a product, then the rule applies to that product.
However, please note that when there are multiple rules that apply, only the highest commission value is used. So if you have 2 rules, a rule for 10% that applies to all products, and another rule for only a few products for 15%, the 15% rule will apply.
Other than that, there are no specific ways to exclude a sub-category. You would need to either use a product tag / another category selection to select different products.
