    Hi,

we want to manually validate VIES before we accept tax exempt orders from a specific customer (instead of using automated validation) because we are afraid that clients may use fake/other people's vat numbers to avoid paying vat.

    Flow should be:

1- customer registers with an EU vat number

2- we validate the vat number and approve the user

3- the user can now buy without vat

How do we do this? We don't want to create a specific group for this because the users will also change groups based on their spend.

    Thank you

as an addition to my previous question, it would be nice id I could base the tax exemption on a customer property (exempt/not exempt)

    Hi Lorenzo,

I think you would want to create a registration option with manual approval for this.

To do that, you can go to B2BKing -> Registration Roles -> Add New and create an option as follows:

The customer will need to wait for their account to be approved before they can login.

In B2BKing -> Registration Fields -> VAT, you can disable the automatic VIES check since you'll be doing it manually.

When you approve a customer, you can assign them to any group. But it would mean that all customers in that group are approved.

I think you could then apply the tax exemption to your 'approved' group only (knowing that all users in that group have already been checked and have a valid VAT nr).
