For example the plugin has a "group rules" feature that moves the user across groups. If an agent is part of 2 groups it is difficult to see how this feature works then.

This is because an Agent can only belong to one Agent Group.
It happens that if an Agent belongs to an Agent Group, he can also sell an info product with a commission other than that of the Agent Group.
