We are still using version 2.6.5 of B2BKing and when updating last week to WordPress 6.2 the site no longer worked. We've reverted back to the back up made before the update (and all works again).

Somehow I suspect (purchasing and) upgrading to the latest version of B2BKing would be wise... Please confirm and I would appreciate if you could also point me in the direction of a manual/step by step explanation to upgrade B2B King (without losing all of our data - products and users)...

    Thanks,

    Paul

    Hi Paul,

    Thanks for using our plugin!

    (1) Generally speaking, yes, it is best to keep the plugin constantly updated for compatibility with the latest WordPress, WooCommerce, PHP versions etc.

You can purchase an annual or lifetime option from our official site at kingsplugins.com

To upgrade from 2.6.5 without losing settings or data, you can follow these steps:

    1.1) Deactivate the 2.6.5 version

1.2) Upload and activate the newest version of the plugin

1.3) The plugin will now prompt you to install the B2BKing Core plugin. Simply click on the "Install" / "Activate" button:

1.4) Go to B2BKing -> Settings -> License and activate your license to get automatic updates.

    (2) I'm not sure specifically why your site no longer worked after updating to WP 6.2. Was there a general "critical error" message? It could be related to running an old version of B2BKing, but it could be a lot of other things as well.

I would probably suggest this approach for updating to WP 6.2:

    2.1) Deactivate ALL site plugins

2.2) Switch the theme to the free 'Storefront' theme

    2.3) Update to WP 6.2

2.4) Now reactivate plugins one by one, and switch to your normal theme.

It's possible the site will still crash when reactivating one of the plugins, but at least you would know which one it is.

    Kind regards,

    Stefan

    Hey Stefan,

Thanks... that worked like a charm!!

One question remaining - I'm hesitating to delete the old version (B2BKing 2.6.5) as I get a prompt that says: "Are you sure you want to delete B2BKing and its data?" And the last thing I want is to (accidentaly) delete all the data - customers/users and products - we've stored in the past two years...

Is it safe to delete the old version anyhow?

Thanks in advance and kind regards,

    Paul

Glad to hear that worked : )

Normally it should be fine to delete it (even though it shows that message), but since 2.6.5 is quite old I am a bit less than 100% sure about it.

Therefore it would be best to have a site backup before deleting it, OR to just delete it via a file manager (or FTP), by going to wp-content/plugins/ and finding the folder of the 2.6.5 version and deleting it there. That way, we can be sure there are no database effects.

Or you can also just leave the old version there as it is (inactive) - it has no effects on the site in any way.

    Kind regards,

    Stefan

    Thanks again Stefan,

I appreciate the prompt reply - I'll opt for the backup AND filemanager option then ;-)

    Kind regards,
