Regarding recommended banner and profile sizes:
1. The vendor picture should be a square image, 100 x 100 px or higher (such as 250 x 250 px)
2. The banner image is harder to say - it depends on each site / theme because it depends on how wide the page is on the site, so I can't give a general size.
