It should be possible to set this on the user profile page, below the "Data Collected at Registration" area.

Do you see that, or do you not have that area on your site? If not, I'm not really sure what the issue could be. If you can share a backend access to the site, or a staging clone site, we'd be happy to check and troubleshoot that directly.
