I think it's unlikely that the dynamic rules are actually removing tags from the products. It's possible that a caching issue is intermittently showing or hiding them, or another process is interfering. Do you happen to use any caching plugins, or server-side caching like Memcached or Redis? If so, please try temporarily deactivating them to see if the issue persists, as the cache might just be showing different states.
If you'd like, we can also troubleshoot this directly on the site. For that, we would need a backend login to the site or a staging clone site. It would also be very helpful if you could share a quick video showing the issue in action, so we can better understand exactly what is happening.
Thanks for getting back to me, and sorry to hear the issue with the tags is still happening.
Unfortunately, because our customers are spread across many different time zones, we aren't able to offer live sessions or calls. I apologize for the inconvenience!
However, if you could record a quick video showing the process and exactly what you are experiencing, that would be incredibly helpful.
Additionally, if you are able to share backend access to the site, we can log in and test things directly. I highly recommend checking with your hosting provider to see if they offer a staging feature. A staging site is an identical clone of your website that is disconnected from the live environment, meaning we can safely troubleshoot without affecting your actual store.
A video showing how to reproduce the problem, along with staging access, will really help us investigate and figure out what is going on.
Thanks for sharing the video, seeing it in action is definitely helpful.
I tested this a bit more on my end, but I'm still not able to reproduce the behavior locally. I believe this might be a conflict with another plugin, some custom code on the site that interacts with tags, or possibly a caching issue where a different product state is somehow being saved.
To figure out exactly what is going on, the best way I can assist is to troubleshoot this directly on the site. Would it be possible to share a backend login or access to a staging clone site? That way, we can safely investigate and get this resolved for you.
Hello,
I am having issues with product tags disapearing due to the dynamic rules of the plugin.
I have created a dynamic rule as follows.
Hidden Prices -> On all products except -> for specific users
I set the specific user and target a tag for exceptions.
I add that tag to products I want the to customer to see.
The issue is the tag keeps being removed from the products whenever I interact with the Dynamic Rules section at all.
Is this a known issue?
Hi Alex,
Thanks for reaching out!,
This sounds quite unusual, and I haven't been able to reproduce it in our local tests. You can see my testing here: https://www.loom.com/share/eb414cbb3d134298b3817dd12cd0e67a

Hi Stefan,
Thank you for the video and reply.
I'm still having issues with the tags disappearing.
Would it be possible to jump on Teams or something similar to show you the process and what we are experiencing?
Kind regards,
Alex

Thanks Stefan,
Please see examples of disappearing tags below.

Edit: Also after testing, only the Tag related to the dynamic rule is removed. Other tags remain.

Hi Stephan,
I've been doing some digging into the website files and our previous devs are to blame.
There is a script that runs every 15 mins wiping and creating tags based on product freatured attributes.
This has now been modified.
Thanks for looking into it.
Kind regrads,
Alex
Hi Alex,
Great to hear that's solved and thanks for the update,
If you run into any further issues with this or need us to take a look at anything else, just let us know anytime.
Have a good weekend,
Stefan
