We haven't directly tested MarketKing with the WebToffee Subscriptions plugin, so I can't give you a definitive answer on full compatibility.
For subscriptions, I'd recommend using the official WooCommerce Subscriptions plugin (from woocommerce.com), since MarketKing has a dedicated integration built specifically for it.
In terms of what to expect with WebToffee: the core pricing and subscription features would likely work fine on the front-end. The area where you may run into trouble is the vendor dashboard. When vendors try to configure subscription products there, it's possible some options, buttons, or settings won't function properly due to missing scripts or styles that aren't loaded in the vendor dashboard context. For plugins like this to work smoothly for vendors, we usually need to build a specific integration that ensures all the right assets are loaded.
Thanks for the quick reply and explanation. For just starting a new site, I really want to avoid the high cost of WooCommerce Subscriptions.
Your documentation shows you support Sumo Subscriptions... would that option work better than the WebToffee option? Have you seen any limitations with that product?
Thanks for the follow-up. There are two different scenarios here:
1. Admin selling subscriptions to vendors (e.g. vendors paying $49/month to sell on your marketplace): This is technically quite simple, and we support several plugins for this, including Sumo Subscriptions, Subscriptio, WooCommerce Subscriptions, and YITH WooCommerce Subscription.
2. Vendors selling subscription products to customers: This is much more complex technically, and currently only WooCommerce Subscriptions is integrated with MarketKing for this use case. No other subscription plugins (including Sumo or WebToffee) have a dedicated integration for vendor-side subscription selling.
So if your goal is for vendors themselves to sell subscription products to end customers, WooCommerce Subscriptions is really the only fully supported option at this time. Other plugins could work and may be worth a try if they have a free version, but generally speaking our main concern is that buttons/UI/panels may not work correctly on the vendor dashboard without a dedicated integration.
Thank you for that EXCELLENT explanation!! I so appreciate you giving more detailed answers for support about your product!
I would not have thought about the difference that way. My primary goal is to have Vendors selling subscriptions to Customers, so seeing this detail is certainly changing how I'm thinking.
Has MarketKing been tested with the WebToffee Subscriptions for WooCommerce plugin?
If so, what were the results and what (if any) features were incompatible with MarketKing for selling subscription based products?
Thank you!
